A strategic road map shapes the future of a university.
No small plans.
Lawrence Technological University (LTU) needed a strategic campus master plan that would align campus facilities and infrastructure with the university’s mission, strategic plan and academic plan.
As a starting place, LTU outlined a vision for the 5,000-student institution’s long-range development. This initial plan examined multiple current challenges, including competing demands for capital, flexibility in adapting to changing academic programs and technologies and overall quality of campus life.
HED evaluated the strategic plan’s potential impact on the 221-acre campus. We conducted an assessment of current facilities, focusing on their ability to support current and future programs and operations. Interviewed key representatives and university officials, and convened workshops to introduce constituency voices, build consensus and deepen our understanding of central issues.
After carefully categorizing our findings and solidifying direction, we developed planning scenarios for the campus framework and master plan, as well as a financial plan to forecast necessary resources for implementation. Our work culminated in the delivery of a thoughtful, comprehensive Strategic Campus Master Plan to guide LTU for the future.
