Moving from incubator to office.
A bio-tech startup gets its first custom space
HED worked with the team at Ansa Biotechnologies, a bio-tech startup, to modify the existing office space into a workplace tailor-made to their needs. The project includes renovation of the existing office facility, including office, conferencing, and support spaces. Flexible laboratory and laboratory support spaces were created through the adaptive reuse of existing office spaces, allowing room for growth and adaptability so workgroups can expand into space as needed or reconfigure while remaining in the same space. The floorplan maximizes daylighting in the laboratories where team members spend most of their day rather than the offices.

Results
The open floor plan allows for flexibility for future expansion of different areas.
The evaluation of the current power and mechanical equipment supply and exhaust needs informed the strategies to meet the proposed laboratory occupancy needs within the rented space.
