A new aesthetic.
Adapting for class-A tenants.
Creating a connector
With a prominent location on Los Angeles’ notable Ventura Boulevard, the Tarzana office building is strategically placed between two dense sections of medical facilities and clinics. To capitalize on this location and create a connector by providing much needed medical officing, Greenbridge Investment Partners turned to HED to renovate the existing 1982, two-story 40,000 square foot office building.
HED’s goal was to revitalize the core and shell into a modern and distinctive medical office facility, as well as provide additional space on the ground floor for a mix of uses including storefront, upscale food service, and outdoor dining. Rather than rip down or attempt to build higher in this area with proximity to private residences, HED’s design solution was to drape a new aesthetic over the building – updating the structure with an elegant, modern facade. The unique cladding, which features openings that allow visual connection into the core of the atrium, creates a sense of modernity while embracing the existing structure’s advantageous traits, earning the project an award from the San Fernando Valley Chapter of AIA in the unbuilt category.
