Simulating flight.
Avionics test lab that replicates flight environment.
Secure, flexible, cost-effective.
When planning their 3-story integrated avionics test facility Northrop Grumman required a solution that would maintain research flexibility and sensitive information partitioning while remaining cost-effective. They turned to HED to design the solution which infuses experimental technology with world-class avionics research standards.
The Pole model tower is designed to accommodate the latest “shell”-fuselage fighter jet from the US military, testing advanced avionics while simulating in-flight conditions such as attack angle and pitch. Directly below the test model is Northrop Grumman’s direct-avionics test lab, which was carefully designed and positioned to replicate a jet fighter’s flight environments.
