Wilshire School Master Plan
Preserve modernly.
Pre-K and primary school’s new master plan updates a historic landmark.
Allowing history into the future.
Wilshire Boulevard Temple’s campus needed reconfigured Pre-K and primary school spaces, enlarge support facilities, and expand parking capacity. As a historic landmark, renovations and construction on the site needed to be strategic.

HED developed the initial planning concepts addressing these needs and others for the campus to reach its full potential. Work on the campus also consists of partial renovations to one historic school building and a complete renovation to another, site work associated with the areas around the two schools, and a new 500 stall parking structure complete with a rooftop playground.

The school buildings—one originally built in 1929 and the other in 1964—also required redesign of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire sprinkler, technology, security and fire alarm systems to meet current code and programming needs. Construction was staggered to prevent any disruptions to daily instruction.
