Healthy living.
Designed for occupant well-being.
Transit-oriented development
5411 Wilshire seeks to re-define urban living beyond simply an apartment tower, but a central place of graceful living, fully connected to the city via the La Brea Purple Metro Line station and Wilshire Boulevard. The design seeks to move beyond the expediency of recent high-rise residential developments by setting new health and well-being standards. The project incorporates components from WELL Building Standard, including fitness, comfort, air, mind, nourishment and light.
Results
395 residential parking spaces can charge electric vehicles.
Approximately 50 units of low-income housing will be provided.
The project will also host a company that provides vehicles that can be rented for short-term trips, allowing more people to use a car when necessary but otherwise not need to own one.
Residents will be able to use the nearby Wilshire/La Brea subway station, which is part of Metro’s Purple Line.
Operable windows, unusual for a high-rise, reduce energy usage and allow occupants to better-control their thermal comfort and provide enhanced access to fresh air.
Green-space on the podium roof provide urban respite using the restorative power of nature to promote human mental health.
