A novel combination of space demands unique expertise.
Community resource meets industrial space
When The Salvation Army began looking for a new location for its Adult Rehabilitation Center, they selected a facility within the 52-acre Brown Field Technology Park (BFTP) in the Otay Mesa area of San Diego, California. With experience on the site, and being the architect of choice for the developer, HED designed the 128,073 SF build-to-suit facility, which includes a 83,504 SF industrial building and a 44,569 SF residential support services building.

The Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Center helps residents combat their addictions, build work and social skills needed to re-enter the workforce, regain health and stability. The design benefits from HED’s diverse experience in both industrial and residential design as a location that will meet the utility and functionality of the industrial while conveying comfort and dignity to the living space.
