A level of polish.
Curb appeal meets flexible interior.
Urban exterior echoes high-tech tenant
HED designed this build-to-suit facility located on SMAC’s Carlsbad Campus in the Carlsbad Research Center Business Park in northern San Diego County. A world leader in moving coil technology and the largest manufacturer of moving coil actuators in the world, SMAC’s facility reflects their pioneering culture and offers maximum flexibility. The 54,414 SF facility features sandblasted concrete panels with form liner accent walls and an open metal canopy at the entry for a streamlined, polished look. The exterior is comprised of a variety of textures and patterns within the concrete panels, with multiple form liner gradients of blasted concrete, exposed aggregate, and varying panel depths that create a rich, urban appearance reflective of SMAC’s legacy of cutting-edge technical innovation.
