Addressing a shortage.
Efficient residential organization.
Amenity rich and transit oriented
Inspire Echo Park is in the diverse Downtown Los Angeles (DTLA) neighborhood on a distinctive intersection along Glendale Boulevard, a major thoroughfare in the area. Benefitting from the Los Angeles’ Transit Oriented Communities Ordinance, the project provides a much-needed boost to the shortage of housing in the DTLA market while minimizing the need for large amounts of parking and traffic generation. HED's design responds to the unique features of the site and is intentionally oriented to provide prominent views of the DTLA skyline and the Hollywood Hills. The result is an efficient residential organization that takes advantage of the site grades and resolves a complex site geometry.

Replacing a collection of small commercial buildings in this in-demand neighborhood, Inspire will address the rising need for housing in the area by providing a unique mix of unit types and resident-serving amenities, including a co-working space, fitness center, resident lounges, and a large rooftop deck open space. This seven-story building contains 90 one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom units with a portion set aside for rent as affordable housing at the very low-income level.
